The visa of a Pakistani national, Sarada Bai, who has been living in India for more than three decades, has been cancelled by Indian authorities.
Sarada Bai has built her life in India, where she has a husband, children, and grandchildren, all of whom are Indian citizens.
Now, she is being forced to return to Pakistan without any delay.
Police have also warned that if she does not leave voluntarily, legal action will be taken against her.
Reports say that despite having all her documentation, Sarada Bai was never granted Indian citizenship — even though she is Hindu, married to an Indian citizen, and has given birth to children in India.
She is now appealing to the government to allow her to stay, saying she has no family left in Pakistan and her Pakistani passport is too old.
Her petition to the government has touched many hearts in India.
After Pahalgam incident, in a brutal move, India revoked all visas issued to Pakistani nationals, effective from April 27.
The country also announced other measures, including cutting the number of diplomatic staff and closing the only functional land border crossing between the countries.
In another development, two Pakistani girls who married Indian boys after waiting over a year for visas earlier this month may now be sent back.
