WEBDESK: Actor Harshvardhan Rane has finally responded after his Sanam Teri Kasam (2016) co-star Mawra Hocane publicly criticized him over his recent remarks about Sanam Teri Kasam 2, amid rising India-Pakistan tensions.
The drama unfolded after Harshvardhan Rane shared that he would not be part of Sanam Teri Kasam 2. Soon after, Mawra posted a fiery message on social media, calling out those using a sensitive time, for personal publicity. Although she didn’t mention Rane by name, fans quickly connected the dots, leading to a wave of online discussion.
“Look around you, look at what’s going on! We could all hear explosions… Children in my country died due to an unjustified, cowardly attack. Innocent lives were lost.” said Mawra Hocane. “While our nations are at war, this is what you come up with? A PR statement to grab attention? What a pity!” she added.
To this , Harshvardhan Rane clarified that he had never mentioned Mawra in his post and had only quietly stepped down from Sanam Teri Kasam 2.
Sanam Teri Kasam 2 was announced earlier this year, exciting fans of the original romantic drama. The first part, directed by Radhika Rao and Vinay Sapru, had built a strong fanbase in both India and Pakistan. News of a sequel had brought hopes of seeing the lead pair together once again, but with Rane now out, casting changes are expected.
