Today, Sammi Deen Baloch was granted release along with other arrested activists; however, police arrested her again in the court.
According to details, the police arrested Sammi Deen Baloch under the Maintenance of Public Order (MPO), sending her to jail for 30 days.
Sindh Home Department clarified that the decision to arrest Baloch under MPO was taken on the recommendation of Inspector General (IG) Sindh.
The authorities argue that Sammi Deen Baloch, Abdul Wahab Baloch, Raza Ali, and others were blocking roads through sit-ins, disrupting law and order.
Renowned activist and lawyer Jibran Nasir, the legal counsel of Sammi, remarked: “The learned judicial magistrate discharged all five accused in the FIR registered yesterday.”
“As soon as the accused were discharged and ordered to be released, the police started waving the MPO order. While Sammi surrendered and willfully gave her arrest, the whereabouts of four others, Lala Wahab, Raziq, Sultan, and Shahdad, are unknown,” he added.
Situation in Balochistan continues to get complex as security situation in the province deteriorates. Earlier this month, terrorists belonging to Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA) attacked and hijacked a train, making more than 400 passengers hostage.
