Russia wants to resolve Pakistan-India differences

Russia’s Foreign Minister, Sergey Lavrov has offered to help India and Pakistan so that both countries can resolve the tensions.

The minister spoke to his Pakistani counterpart, Ishaq Dar.

“It was stressed that Russia is ready to act for a political settlement of the situation resulting from the act of terrorism of April 22 in the Pahalgam area of the Kashmir valley, in the event of a mutual desire on the part of Islamabad and New Delhi,” the Russian Foreign Ministry said in a statement.

Earlier, the Russian minister spoke to Indian Foreign Minister Subrahmanyam Jaishankar and also called for a settlement of differences between the two neighbouring countries.

Malaysia’s minister talks to Ishaq Dar

Malaysian Foreign Minister Dato Seri Mohamad Hasan talked to Foreign Minister Senator Ishaq Dar regarding the tensions and recent developments.

Dar reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to peace and regional security but stressed that Islamabad reserves the right to safeguard its sovereignty and national interests.

He also said that New Delhi launched a campaign of “baseless allegations, inflammatory propaganda” against Pakistan.

Turkiye support for Pakistan

Earlier, Turkiye announced its support for Pakistan against India’s aggression.

The Turkish ambassador met Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on May 3, stressing the need to exercise restraint to reduce tensions in the region.

China support for Pakistan

Ishaq Dar, Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister talked to Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi.

Dar informed Wang during the call about the growing Pakistan-India tensions following recent terrorist strikes in Kashmir. Dar underlined Pakistan’s dedication to combat terrorism and its opposition to any measures that would aggravate the circumstances.

Dar further promised Wang that Pakistan is managing the situation quietly and intends to keep in contact with China and the world community as it evolves.

Senior Chinese official Wang stated that China is keenly watching the event. He said that every country shares the duty of combating terrorism and that China has consistently supported Pakistan’s counterterrorism initiatives.

India keeps spreading propaganda regarding so-called and imaginary “terrorist camps” in Pakistan.

Since the Pahalgam attack, India has repeatedly made baseless and false claims regarding alleged terrorist hideouts along the LoC.
