WEBDESK: Lahore Qalandars have officially appointed Russell Domingo as their new head coach for the upcoming PSL 2025 season. The experienced South African coach takes over from Darren Gough, who had to step down due to personal commitments.
Domingo has an impressive coaching background, having previously led the national teams of South Africa and Bangladesh. His appointment is expected to bring fresh strategies and a strong tactical approach to Lahore Qalandars as they aim for another successful season.
Darren Gough was initially set to continue his role as Lahore Qalandars’ head coach after leading them in the Global T20 League in Guyana last year. However, due to unforeseen circumstances, he had to withdraw from the position. The Qalandars’ management expressed their gratitude to Gough and wished him the best for the future.
Russell Domingo, excited about his new role, said, “I am really looking forward to working with Lahore Qalandars for the PSL 2025 season. Meeting the players, working with the management, and preparing for a thrilling campaign is something I truly anticipate. We have a great squad and incredible supporters, and I hope to make them proud.”
“We are delighted to have Russell Domingo join us as head coach for PSL 10,” Qalandars co-owner Sameen Rana said. “Russel has vast experience at the international level that makes him an invaluable asset for the Qalandars. We believe his expertise will contribute immensely to our team’s success in PSL 10.”
With PSL 10 on the horizon, Lahore Qalandars are determined to secure another championship title. Fans will be eager to see how Domingo’s coaching influences the team’s performance as they gear up for the highly anticipated tournament.
