Moon Sighting Reports from Other Countries

Several countries, including Saudi Arabia, the UAE, and Qatar, have already announced the sighting of the Shawwal moon, confirming that Eid ul Fitr will be celebrated there. Reports also suggest that the UK will observe Eid tomorrow.

Significance of the Meeting

The Ruet-e-Hilal Committee plays an essential role in determining the official Islamic calendar dates in Pakistan. The decision is made based on religious scholars’ analysis, meteorological data, and eyewitness reports from across the country. The announcement of Eid ul Fitr is highly anticipated by millions of Muslims, as it marks the end of Ramadan, the month of fasting.

According to forecasts from the Pakistan Space and Upper Atmosphere Research Commission (Suparco), the Shawwal moon is likely to be sighted on Sunday, March 30, 2025.

If confirmed, Eid ul Fitr will be observed across Pakistan on Monday, March 31, 2025.

The committee urges the public to report any moon sightings to local Ruet-e-Hilal offices. After reviewing all reports, the Ruet-e-Hilal Committee will make an official announcement regarding the Eid ul Fitr celebrations.
