WEBDESK: The State Bank of Pakistan has announced their updating bank timings in Ramadan to accommodate the fasting schedule.
According to an official statement issued by the central bank, office hours from Monday to Thursday will be from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. without any breaks.
On Fridays, bank timings in Ramadan will be from 9:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. without any breaks.
For public dealings, bank timings in Ramadan will be from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. from Monday to Thursday, with Friday services closing at 12:30 p.m..
The SBP spokesperson confirmed that all commercial banks, development finance institutions (DFIs), and microfinance banks will follow the revised schedule during Ramadan.
Earlier, the establishment division had issued a notification to adjust working hours for federal government offices. Offices operating on a five-day workweek will function from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., while those on a six-day workweek will operate from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.. On Fridays, all government offices will close at 12:30 p.m. for Jummah prayers.
In an earlier notification, the Pakistan Railways Commission also announced revised working hours for reservation offices across the country in Ramadan.
According to a notification issued on Friday, the morning shift will operate from 7:30 AM to 12:30 PM, while the evening shift will function from 12:30 PM to 5:30 PM.
Additionally, on Fridays, there will be a break for Juma prayers from 12:30 PM to 2:00 PM.
However, reservation offices that operate on a single shift will continue with their existing working hours.
