WEBDESK: Rajab Butt, a popular Pakistani YouTuber and family vlogger, is currently at the centre of a budding scandal after his personal videos, supposedly containing him and some of his close friends, were leaked online.
Rajab is a popular everyday vlogger, making regular, catchy content on his unedited way of life, so Rajab has earned a lot of headlines due to controversial reasons, but this one seems to be the severe one.
The purportedly compromising footage that has been leaked has become the cause of a scandal among the population when rumours concerning his relationship with TikToker Zahra Malik appear.
This has fuelled the controversy further since it is argued that Rajab Butts’ wife, Eman, is already expecting their child. Its perceived betrayals have caused a universal outcry, with both the fans and the critics calling to pay a price.
Other people who are in the same predicament as Rajab are his friends and fellow influencers, Maan Dogar, Haider Shah, and Shazi, whose private videos also featured in the leak. The group has accused their phones and equipment of being hacked, and the material has been shared against their will.
Nonetheless, what has done little or no good at all is the silence of Rajab himself, who, amid a few disparaging remarks claiming that it was a part of his “past”, has kept shockingly quiet, which has only lent fuel to the fire.
Bringing into the drama some human element to it, the brother of Eman went on social media to support his sister. He explicated that although Eman is not keen on addressing the public at the moment, she is still in the right frame of mind and could express her opinion in terms of family later, asserting that she is not allowed to yet, as per a statement given by her brother on Instagram Live.
These claims were later denied by Rajab Butt himself in another Instagram Live.
With the pressure intensifying on Rajab, he is still outside the country and is still in Dubai. Amid legal and social repercussions, the scandal brings about searching questions of privacy, ethics among celebrities, and the cost of fame in the digital world.
