Cloudy weather with rain and thunderstorms is expected in different parts of the country, including Lahore, Islamabad, Karachi, and Peshawar, on Monday, according to the daily weather forecast issued by the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD).

According to the MET department, weather in Islamabad and its surrounding areas is expected to remain cloudy on Monday, with chances of rain accompanied by strong winds and thunderstorms in the evening or night.

In most districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), including Chitral, Dir, Swat, Kohistan, Shangla, Battagram, Mansehra, Abbottabad, Buner, Bajaur, Mohmand, Kurram, Khyber, and Waziristan, rain with strong winds and thunderstorms is expected, along with light snowfall on the mountains and heavy rainfall in some areas.

During this period, Peshawar, Kohat, Nowshera, Swabi, Mardan, Hangu, and Bannu will also likely experience rain accompanied by strong winds and thunderstorms.

According to meteorologists, many districts in Punjab will remain dry with alternating clouds in the sky. Parts of Rawalpindi, Attock, Jhelum, Chakwal, Mandi Bahauddin, Sargodha, Mianwali, Khushab, Gujrat, Sialkot, Sheikhupura, Lahore and its hinterland, on the other hand, stand the chance of experiencing showers alongside gusting winds and thunderstorm activities.

Rain and snow are also expected in Muree, Galyat and their surrounding areas on Monday.

Separately, the Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) Punjab has issued an alert for more rain during the holy month of Ramadan. The alert warned that rain is predicted in most districts of Punjab from March 9 to 16.

The advisory urged citizens to call PMDA helpline, which is 1129 in case of any emergency during the rainy season.
