Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Shah Farman has been issued a notice on Friday for misbehaving with the Joint Investigation Team (JIT).
Reportedly, Shah Farman misbehaved with the JIT members, as a result of which he was detained for two and a half hours for interrogation.
Previously, multiple PTI leaders were summoned to appear before a JIT on charges of leading social media hate campaigns against the state institutions.
The JIT questioned the PTI Chairman Barrister Gohar Ali and Shah Farman, including others, regarding party financing, and decided to take strict action against those who did not appear despite summons.
The notice warned of strict action against those who wouldn’t appear before the JIT. In addition, two members of the PTI finance department, Aaliya Hamza and Kanwal Shozab, appeared before the JIT through their lawyer Dr. Ali Imran and gave conditional attendance
It merits a mention that the JIT had summoned fifteen party members of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf, out of which only three leaders appeared.
On March 7, 2025, the IG Islamabad office sent JIT attendance summons to two dozen PTI leaders, noting: “There is sufficient material available with the JIT upon which it is assumed that you are involved or closely acquainted with the facts and circumstances of the matter in issue before JIT.”
Following PTI members have been summoned by the JIT:
Salman Akram Raja, Rauf Hassan, Syed Firdous Shamim Naqvi, Muhammad Khalid Khurshid Khan, Miswn Muhammad Aslam Iqbal, Muhammad Hammad Azhar, Aon Abbas, Aliya Hamza Malik, Muhammad Shahbaz Shabbir, Waqas Akram, Kanwal Shauzib, Taimoor Saleem Khan, Asad Qaisar, Shah Farman, Asif Rasheed, Muhammad Arshad, Sibghat Ullah Virak, Azhar Mashwani, Muhammad Numan Afzal, Jibran Ilyas, Salman Raza, Zulfi Bukhari, Musa Virk, Ali Malik.
