The PTI-led Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) government has called for the removal of Article 245 and the withdrawal of the Pakistan Army from the province.
A detailed response to the call has emerged. It outlines reasons why the military presence is still required in KP.
According to security sources: “Law and order is provincial responsibility. Army has no desire to do any task which is police responsibility. The Army is there on the provincial government’s request and will not stay a day longer.”
It then questions the capacity of the KP police. “KP police and other law and order forces are highly politicised, corrupt, and under-equipped. All statistics prove it again and again.”
Experts accuse PTI of working with criminal elements and destabilising security.
“PTI is in bed with criminals, smugglers, and Kharjis and wants the security situation to completely break down. This serves its three objectives:-
Narrative remains focused on security rather than governance and corruption.
Sources added that this is a deliberate campaign with aims to blackmail the federal government to get more funds.
They further said, “Their strategy is to create maximum dissension and pull as a preparatory manoeuvre for next Indian military attack after the Pahalgam embarrassment.”
The message warns of consequences if the army is withdrawn.
“Once army goes out surely and quickly, Kharjis will rest over KPK. Remember Swat. Paving way for more terrorist organisations including BLA, IS, etc to plunder and flourish in KPK.”
It concludes with a warning about possible future unrest.
“If Army is at that time called to restore the status quo / push Kharjis out, it will be a bloodbath with people of KPK paying most for the selfish politics of PTI and IK. However, better would be that rather let KP taste the consequences of their “elected” puppets and themselves stand against this evil of Kharjis / PTI.”
