In a major setback for the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), the Constitutional Bench of the Supreme Court has ruled against PTI in the reserved seats case on Friday.

The verdict was announced by a 10-member bench headed by Justice Aminuddin Khan on Friday.
The 17th hearing on review petitions was held in the Supreme Court today. The majority of the Supreme Court, 7 to 6, approved the review petitions.
Meanwhile, Justice Salahuddin Panhour excused himself from hearing the case. Justice Ayesha Malik and Justice Aqeel Abbasi had already separated from the constitutional bench.
Previously, on July 12, 2024, the 13-member full court of the Supreme Court awarded the seats to the PTI by a majority of 8 judges.
The PML-N and the PPP filed review petitions with the Election Commission against this decision.
During the case, Faisal Siddiqui and Hamid Khan presented arguments on behalf of the Sunni Ittehad Council, while Salman Rakram Raja appeared on behalf of the PTI, and the Election Commission, PML-N, and PPP submitted their written submissions.
