WEBDESK: The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has announced, on Wednesday, an exciting new feature for PSL 2025: Player Tracking Technology. This will provide fans with an enhanced viewing experience, offering detailed insights into player movements during the matches.
According to a statement from PCB, “The players’ movements including fielders’ coordinates, bowler run-ups and batting stances on the field will be tracked frame-by-frame on each delivery.”
The technology in PSL 2025 will offer in-depth performance analysis for fielders, scoring-zone information for batters, and insights on dismissals based on ball-catching assessments.
The news comes days after the Pakistan Cricket Board announced plans to introduce auto no-ball detection technology in the PSL 10 games.
“From auto no-ball detection and live umpire communication to DRS and innings timers, match logging and real-time multi-angle replays, every HBL PSL match of this edition will operate with a comprehensive tech-backed officiating ecosystem,” the PCB said.
HBL PSL Chief Executive Officer Salman Naseer said, “The HBL PSL has always embraced innovation and with the introduction of Player Tracking Technology in its upcoming edition, we are taking a step forward in enriching the fan experience.”
“Our goal has always been to deliver world-class coverage. Player Tracking Technology is another step towards making the HBL PSL a benchmark for modern cricket broadcasting.”
PSL 2025 is scheduled to commence on April 11. with matches across four cities – Karachi, Lahore, Multan, and Rawalpindi. The final is scheduled for May 18 at Lahore’s Gaddafi Stadium.
