WEBDESK: PM Shehbaz Sharif has left for the United Arab Emirates (UAE) on a one-day official visit on Thursday.
He is accompanied by a high-level delegation, including Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar, several federal ministers, and senior government officials.
During the visit, PM Shehbaz Sharif will meet UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan to discuss a wide range of topics. Key points on the agenda include increasing economic cooperation, boosting investment opportunities, and exploring new areas of collaboration between Pakistan and the UAE.
According to the Foreign Office, the prime minister’s visit will serve to further strengthen the longstanding brotherly relations between Pakistan and the UAE, deepen economic ties, and foster multifaceted collaboration.
Officials believe the meetings will pave the way for renewed cooperation in key sectors such as construction, finance, renewable energy, and logistics. The visit will also focus on supporting Pakistani expatriates working in the UAE, who make up a large part of the country’s overseas workforce and contribute significantly to remittances.
Before departure, PM Shehbaz Sharif expressed hope that the visit would bring positive results for both countries. He emphasized the importance of close coordination between the leaderships of Pakistan and the UAE to ensure lasting peace, stability, and shared prosperity in the region.
