WEBDESK: The post Hajj flight operation from Saudi Arabia to Pakistan officially began on Tuesday, June 10, 2025. The first post Hajj flight, operated by Pakistan International Airlines (PIA), departed from Jeddah carrying 307 Pakistani pilgrims. This marked the start of a month-long operation to bring back thousands of pilgrims who performed Hajj this year.

Over 88,000 Pilgrims to Return Under Government Scheme

According to the Ministry of Religious Affairs, the post Hajj flight PK-732 left Jeddah at 8:50 pm and was scheduled to land in Islamabad at 3:50 am the following morning. The government has confirmed that more than 88,000 pilgrims under the official Hajj scheme will be flown home during this operation.

Operation to Continue Until July 10

The post Hajj flight operation will continue until July 10, 2025. A total of 342 flights are planned to repatriate pilgrims from both Jeddah and Madinah. The first flight from Madinah, PK-7030, is scheduled to depart on June 12 and arrive in Lahore the same evening, carrying another group of 307 pilgrims.

Airport Facilities and Special Arrangements for Pilgrims

Dr. Syed Ata Ur Rehman, Secretary of the Ministry of Religious Affairs, said that everything is in order and the operation will support a safe and proper return for all participants. Steps have been taken at the airports to help pilgrims with their passport checks, collecting luggage, and getting Zamzam water.

Post Hajj Flight Schedule

The post Hajj flight schedule includes services operated by PIA, private Pakistani airlines, and Saudi carriers. Flights will arrive in major cities including Islamabad, Lahore, Karachi, Multan, and Peshawar. On June 11 alone, eight post Hajj flights are planned for different cities, bringing home over a thousand pilgrims.

In total, over 115,000 Pakistanis performed Hajj in 2025, including those under the private Hajj scheme. Private Hajj travellers will also return home through post Hajj flights arranged by their respective tour operators.

The government has urged families of pilgrims to stay in contact with Hajj mission offices and to check flight schedules regularly. All pilgrims are advised to reach the airports on time and collect their belongings, including Zamzam water, at the arrival lounges.
