WEBDESK: Pakistan Air Force’s JF-17 Thunder Block-III impressed global aviation experts at the Royal International Air Tattoo (RIAT) 2025, held in the United Kingdom. The aircraft received widespread praise for its advanced technology, sharp performance, and professional display.
In a major achievement, the JF-17 Block-III was awarded the “Spirit of the Meet”, a prestigious honour given for exceptional participation and aircraft innovation.
JF-17 Thunder Shines at RIAT 2025: Tejas Still Chasing Recognition
On the other hand, India’s much-hyped Tejas fighter jet failed to secure any award or major recognition at the same event. Despite big online claims by Indian media and defence circles, Tejas was noticeably underwhelming compared to Pakistan’s JF-17 Thunder.
Experts noted that real-world performance exposed the gap between Indian claims and reality. While the JF-17 proved itself in front of an international audience, Tejas remained stuck in development and marketing spin.
JF-17 Thunder’s International Recognition Grows
This is not the first time the JF-17 has earned global praise. At the Dubai Airshow 2023, the fighter jet attracted strong attention from international defence officials and aviation enthusiasts.
The JF-17 has also participated in major international exercises, including:
- Anatolian Eagle (Turkey)
- Spears of Victory (Saudi Arabia)
- Joint drills with China since 2014
The aircraft continues to enhance Pakistan’s reputation as a serious player in modern aerial warfare.
Tejas: Social Media Buzz, But No Real Wins
India’s HAL Tejas Mk-1 did participate in the Dubai Airshow 2023 and joined the Desert Flag VIII multinational exercise. However, its international presence remains very limited.
Despite India’s efforts to promote Tejas as a “world class jet” through social media campaigns and flashy propaganda, independent analysts have pointed out that these claims are often exaggerated.
Fact-check reports confirm that while Tejas may have shown some design potential, it lacks meaningful recognition or awards from respected international platforms.
Propaganda vs Performance
India’s defence PR machinery continues to inflate the Tejas narrative, using social media to sell success that hasn’t materialised. Fake or anonymous accounts regularly post unverified claims of “global interest” in the Tejas, but actual results tell a different story.
The difference is clear. While Tejas struggles to move beyond test phases, Pakistan’s JF-17 is flying high with confirmed international exercises, partnerships, and now awards.
Independent observers now agree that global military credibility comes from proven field performance, not online hype.
The JF-17 Thunder has raised Pakistan’s flag on the global stage. It has backed its claims with awards, respect, and action.
Meanwhile, Tejas continues to chase headlines instead of real victories. Once again, it is clear that propaganda fades but performance lasts.
