Pakistan’s IT exports hit record $3.8 billion  in FY24–25

Federal Minister for IT and Telecom, Shaza Khawaja, announced on July 18 (Friday) that Pakistan’s IT, ITeS, and freelancers’ exports have hit an 𝐚𝐥𝐥-𝐭𝐢𝐦𝐞 𝐡𝐢𝐠𝐡 𝐨𝐟 $3.8 billion  𝐢𝐧 𝐅𝐘 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟒–𝟐𝟓.

According to details, the increase marks an overall export growth of 18 per cent in the country. Khawaja took to LinkedIn to post, “It’s the result of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s dedicated attention and whole of government approach.”

The minister added that Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif had taken direct “decisive actions across five core areas, which contributed immensely to this growth.”

Following are the core areas mentioned by the federal minister:

1. Positioning Pakistan Globally

2. Investing in Talent & Infrastructure.

3. Protecting and Supporting Through Policy

4. Ensuring stable high-speed internet

5. ⁠National Digitisation, digital economy and cashless Pakistan initiatives

“This growth reflects the power of visionary leadership, bold policymaking, and the relentless efforts of our tech companies, startups, freelancers, and remote workers who continue to make Pakistan a global tech force with the support of strong telecom infrastructure providers,” she concluded.

The minister further expressed optimism that Pakistan “is well on its way to achieving $15 billion in IT exports by 2030.”
