WEBDESK: The Pahalgam attack has triggered diplomatic tensions between Pakistan and India, leading the Indian government to ban the official X (formerly Twitter) account of the Government of Pakistan, making it inaccessible to users within India.
A message on the platform reads, ‘Account Withheld: @GovtofPakistan’s account has been withheld in India in response to a legal demand.’ The exact legal reasoning behind this action has not been publicly disclosed by either X or the Indian authorities.

The incident took place after the Pahalgam attack that claimed 26 hotel visitors in Kashmir under Indian control. Following the devastating event India implemented multiple powerful diplomatic measures by stopping border traffic at Wagah-Attari along with revoking Pakistani visas while requesting all Pakistani residents in India to evacuate within two days.
The Pahalgam attack has further deepened mistrust between the two countries. Pakistan’s Foreign Office expressed sorrow over the loss of lives and wished for the swift recovery of the injured.
However, India responded by announcing the termination of the Indus Waters Treaty, a decades-old agreement on water sharing, and has declared staff at the Pakistani High Commission in New Delhi as persona non grata, giving them a week to leave the country.
To address these recent developments, Pakistan has called for an urgent meeting of its National Security Committee, today on Thursday where key military and political leaders are expected to make major decisions in response to India’s actions post the Pahalgam attack.
As the fallout from the Pahalgam attack continues, both countries remain on high alert. The international community is closely watching how this crisis unfolds, with concerns growing about the potential for further escalation in the region.
