Webdesk: Most areas of the country are expected to remain hot and extremely humid today. However, isolated rain with wind and thunder is likely in parts of Kashmir, northeast Punjab, the Potohar region, and upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, according to the latest Pakistan weather update.
Scattered showers are also expected by evening or night in parts of northeast and south Balochistan, southern Punjab, and upper to southeast Sindh.
Currently, a low-pressure system is located over northern Balochistan, with a trough extending northeastward. A westerly wave is also impacting the upper regions. Due to this weather pattern, light to moderate monsoon currents are moving into the upper parts of the country and are expected to continue for the next 12 to 18 hours.

Sindh
Most districts in Sindh will see partly cloudy skies. However, rain with wind and thunder may occur at isolated locations including Ghotki, Sukkur, Sanghar, Umerkot, Tharparkar, Badin, Sajawal, Karachi, Thatta, Mirpur Khas, Matiari, Larkana, Naushahro Feroze, Shaheed Benazirabad, Shikarpur and Jacobabad. Heavy downpours are also possible in some spots.
Balochistan
Hot and humid conditions will dominate most areas, though scattered rain with wind and thunder, possibly heavy in places, is expected in Barkhan, Sibi, Kohlu, Musakhel, Qila Saifullah, Loralai, Dera Bugti, Zhob, Kalat, Khuzdar, Awaran, Lasbela, and nearby areas during the evening or night.
Punjab
Hot and very humid weather will persist across most districts. Isolated rain with wind and thunder is likely in Rawalpindi, Murree, Galiyat, Attock, Chakwal, Jhelum, Mandi Bahauddin, Gujrat, Gujranwala, Hafizabad, Wazirabad, Lahore, Sheikhupura, Sialkot, Narowal, Sahiwal, Jhang, Toba Tek Singh, Nankana Sahib, Chiniot, Faisalabad, Okara, Kasur, Khushab, Sargodha, Bahawalpur, Bahawalnagar, D.G. Khan, Multan, Khanewal, Layyah and nearby areas.
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP)
Partly cloudy skies with isolated rain and thunderstorms are expected in Dir, Chitral, Swat, Kohistan, Malakand, Shangla, Battagram, Buner, Mansehra, Abbottabad, Haripur, Peshawar, Charsadda, Nowshera, Mardan, Swabi, Kohat, Bajaur, Mohmand, Khyber, Orakzai, Hangu, Karak and Kurram. Some areas may see heavy showers during the morning.
Gilgit-Baltistan (GB)
Partly cloudy conditions will prevail with a chance of isolated rain and thunderstorms in the region.
Kashmir
Cloudy skies with chances of rain and thunder are likely across Kashmir.
Islamabad
Islamabad and nearby areas are expected to see partly cloudy skies with a 40 per cent chance of rain, wind and thunderstorms.

Highest temperatures recorded were at Dalbandin 44°C, at Nokundi 43°C, at Dadu and Turbat 42°C according to the Pakistan weather update.
In response to the recent intense rainfall and flooding, Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz declared an emergency in several districts, including Rawalpindi and Chakwal. In a statement on X, she said: “An emergency has been declared in various areas of Punjab due to unprecedented stormy rains and flooding. Government institutions are working with zeal and utmost effort.”

Pakistan weather update: Advisory for tourists
Rainy and cloudy conditions are expected from Friday through Tuesday in Muzaffarabad, Neelum Valley, Murree, Galiyat, Chitral, Dir, Kalam, Malam Jabba, Naran, Kaghan, Gilgit, Hunza and Skardu. Some areas may experience heavy to very heavy rainfall during this period.
There’s a risk of flash flooding in local streams and nullahs, and landslides may block roads in hilly terrain. Tourists are advised to stay informed of weather updates and adjust travel plans accordingly.
