WEBDESK: Pakistan is set to send around 100 qualified female nurses to Malaysia as part of a new employment initiative. The plan is led by the Overseas Employment Corporation (OEC), working under the Ministry of Overseas Pakistanis and Human Resource Development.

At a seminar held in Karachi in February this year, it was pointed out that while nurses have a critical role in improving healthcare access and quality, their workforce in Pakistan is highly underpaid and overworked.

To qualify, applicants must have a diploma in general nursing and post-basic specialised training. At least five years of working experience in ICU or related departments is required. The preferred departments include coronary care units, medical/surgical wards, paediatric ICU, neonatal ICU, and cardiac units. Candidates must also be under 45 years of age and registered with the Pakistan Nursing Council.

The application process for female nurses includes submitting a detailed resume along with recent passport-size photos, educational degrees, academic transcripts, nursing registration certificates, and a valid practising license. A bank challan of Rs. 500 must also be submitted with the documents.

This step is part of Pakistan’s broader efforts to boost overseas employment for skilled workers, especially women in the healthcare sector. The OEC has emphasized transparency and fairness in the selection process, urging only eligible and serious candidates to apply.

This opportunity is not only beneficial for female nurses seeking better career options but also strengthens Pakistan’s ties with Malaysia through skilled workforce support. The selected nurses will work in Malaysian hospitals, where their expertise is expected to significantly contribute to patient care.

More details and updates are available on the official OEC website for interested applicants.
