India’s leading defense analyst, Pravin Sawhney, while talking to “The Wire” podcast, admitted that Pakistan has surprised the world with its modern military capabilities and strategy during the recent four-day war.

The analyst, while admitting Indian failures, stated, “Pakistan is not a data but a reality, and its profile has become prominent around the world. The operation [by Pakistan] that took place on the night of May 6 and 7 was the most important moment of the entire operation.”

The next day, Air Marshal Aurangzeb Ahmed of the Pakistan Air Force gave a detailed briefing to the international media in which he explained how Pakistan targeted Indian aircraft through electromagnetic identification.

He added that no information was given by India, nor was any explanation given. “We have been hiding till today, and the world is watching everything. If we have done something, why did the world not see it?”

Analyst Pravin Sawhney said that air power will be decisive in the upcoming Indo-Pak war, and Pakistan has gained a clear advantage in this field. “Our air defense systems, missiles, and air readiness are currently severely weak, while Pakistan is not only ready with its modern concepts but also has the full support of China.”

Pravin Sawhney clarified that any action at the global level can be immediately monitored through satellites. China, the United States, Europe and Russia have a 24-hour surveillance satellite network, through which the whole world saw what happened on the night of May 6 and 7.

Indian defense analyst Pravin Sawhney said that we have stopped the operation, which is proof that we have realized our weaknesses. Pakistan is rapidly preparing itself while we continue to search for political justifications.

He added that India has neither a credible conventional war capability nor an active strategy. “China is sitting in eastern Ladakh, we cannot drive it out. We used to consider Pakistan weak, but today its defense position is better than ours.”

Finally, the analyst said that Pakistan has increased its defense budget by 20 percent, and China is with its ally. “Pakistan is not going anywhere, but is getting stronger, while we have been saying only that it [Pakistan] is going to break into pieces.”
