The Federal Ministry of Interior has ordered all Afghan Citizen Card (ACC) holders to leave Pakistan by March 31, 2025.
According to the ministry, the repatriation programme for undocumented foreigners has been in effect since November 1, 2023. Now, all undocumented migrants and ACC holders have been instructed to voluntarily leave the country by the March 31, 2025 deadline.
Meanwhile, water levels at Tarbela and Mangla dams have reached alarming lows, prompting IRSA to issue a warning to the provinces.
Starting April 1, 2025, the deportation process for all foreign nationals will begin. The ministry emphasised that Afghan Citizen Card holders have been given ample time for a dignified return and assured that deportees will be treated with respect throughout the process.
To support those returning, food and healthcare facilities have been arranged. The ministry highlighted that Pakistan has long been a generous host to Afghan refugees and continues to uphold its responsibilities as a responsible state.
The government reiterated that all foreign nationals residing in Pakistan must comply with legal requirements and respect the country’s constitution.
