WEBDESK: Pakistan has strongly rejected the statements made by Indian leaders during a debate in the Indian Parliament on the so called “Operation Sindoor”.
In a press statement, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said the claims were “baseless” and “provocative”, accusing India of glorifying aggression to gain political mileage.
The statement said India had attacked Pakistan without any evidence or investigation into the Pahalgam incident. The night of 6 and 7 May 2025 saw Indian forces target what they called terrorist camps, but in reality, innocent civilians lost their lives. “India failed to achieve any of its strategic goals,” the spokesperson said.
In contrast, Pakistan highlighted its success in shooting down Indian fighter jets and neutralising military targets. These, it said, were clear signs of India’s failure and Pakistan’s preparedness.
The Foreign Office accused Indian leaders of misleading their own people. It said India ignored Pakistan’s offer for an independent probe into the Pahalgam attack and instead chose war. “They acted as judge, jury, and executioner,” the spokesperson said.
The statement dismissed India’s so-called “Operation Mahadev” as lacking any credibility. “The Indian Home Minister’s version is full of lies. Is it just coincidence that the alleged attackers were killed just as the Parliament debate started?”
Pakistan also rejected India’s claim of a “new normal” in relations. “Our response in May 2025 proved that we will always defend ourselves against aggression,” it said. “The only acceptable normal is mutual respect and adherence to international law.”
India’s claims of “nuclear blackmail” by Pakistan were also rejected. Islamabad said these were attempts to cover up India’s own aggressive mindset. “Pakistan did not need nuclear weapons to deter India — our conventional strength was enough,” the spokesperson stated.
Pakistan also expressed deep concern over India’s decision to suspend the Indus Waters Treaty. It called the move illegal and a clear violation of international commitments. “India must fulfil its treaty obligations instead of boasting about unilateral steps,” the statement said.
Pakistan warned that India’s mix of disinformation and warmongering could harm regional peace. “Pakistan remains committed to peace and meaningful dialogue,” the statement read, adding that the dispute over Jammu and Kashmir remains central to any future talks.
