In order to qualify for the Champions Trophy semi-finals, Pakistan need to win all its remaining matches. But wait—there’s only one match left against Bangladesh.

With Pakistani batters out of form, Fakhar ruled out of the tournament due to injury, and extremely poor fielding, it’s difficult for Pakistan to even win against Bangladesh.

So, Pakistan is almost out of the championship. However, mathematically speaking, there is still a chance to qualify for the semi-finals.

How can we make it to Champions Trophy semi-finals?

Match 1: Bangladesh must win against New Zealand on Feb 24

Match 2: Pakistan must win by a massive margin against Bangladesh on Feb 27

Match 3: India must win against New Zealand on March 2nd

Overall, we just want New Zealand to lose all their remaining matches so we can qualify for the Champions Trophy semi-finals. We also need a better run rate than Bangladesh and New Zealand, who would have 2 points just like Pakistan, even if things go in our favour as mentioned above.

However, if New Zealand beats Bangladesh on Monday, Pakistan and Bangladesh will be mathematically eliminated, and India and the Kiwis will reach the Champions Trophy semi-finals.

In case of a washout, Pakistan’s chances of qualifying will become almost zero.

Currently, Pakistan is at the bottom of Group A.
