WEBDESK: Pakistan has been named as the President of the UN Security Council and this is a big blow to India as such a diplomatic move has been well accepted by the whole international community. The trend is a great blow to India foreign policy under Modi government that has always lacked regional and international isolation.
Another Win for Pakistan as It Heads UN Security Council
The appointment comes at a crucial time when the UN Security Council plays a vital role in addressing regional security challenges, and Pakistan’s leadership has been viewed as a responsible and balanced voice for the developing world. It follows Pakistan’s recent elevation as Vice-Chair of the UN Counter-Terrorism Committee, highlighting the world’s growing recognition of Islamabad’s effective strategy against terrorism and its responsible diplomatic engagement within the UN Security Council broader security framework.
In the meantime, another feather in the cap of India as it continues with its oppressive mission to denigrate Pakistan internationally through its campaigning efforts has again failed. Modi government has failed to establish credible channels and isolate Pakistan in the UN security council and this has raised the wave of fierce criticism within India itself.
Opposition Questions India’s Diplomatic Isolation After Pahalgam Attack and Failing at UN Security Council
Senior Congress leader Pawan Khera slammed the Modi government’s foreign policy failures, stating: “After the Pahalgam terror attack, Modi failed to diplomatically isolate Pakistan, even within the UN Security Council, and betrayed both the soldiers and the people of India.”
Congress spokesperson Renuka Chowdhury also voiced sharp criticism. In a public post, she questioned the very foundation of India’s foreign policy under Modi: “I want to ask the Prime Minister has our foreign policy collapsed? Why are the four terrorists involved in the Pahalgam attack still roaming free? Who will take responsibility for the intelligence failure?”
Chowdhury pointed out that despite 151 visits to 72 countries and countless diplomatic meetings, including failed lobbying within the UN Security Council, India has achieved nothing of substance. She accused the Modi government of spreading false anti-Pakistan narratives after the Pahalgam incident while ignoring the real issues at home.
UN Security Council Setback Deepens India’s Diplomatic Isolation
Further embarrassment came with the failure of India’s international diplomatic campaign to label Operation Sandhoor as a counter-terrorism operation. The campaign, widely regarded as based on falsehoods and political motives, was firmly rejected by major global powers including those holding permanent seats on the UN Security Council.
India’s growing isolation has also sparked a fresh political battle between the BJP and Congress, with opposition leaders demanding accountability for the government’s repeated diplomatic setbacks.
