WEBDESK: The Pakistan Long Range Rifle Team has made the nation proud with a remarkable performance at the South Africa F-Class National Long Range Championship 2025. The team won double gold medals, defeating the world’s number one team, South Africa, on their home ground — a historic achievement.
In the Vice President’s Team Match, the Pakistan team scored 1168 out of 1200, securing the gold medal. In the prestigious Chairman’s Team Cup, they scored an even higher 1174 out of 1200 to claim another gold.
Team members included Lt. Gen. Ahsan, Asad Waheed, Ubaid Ibrahim, Huzaifa Gul, Junaid Waqas, Lt. Col. Junaid Ali, and Sepoy Waleed. The team was coached by South African wind experts Hennie Gerber and Julius Hartman during a four-day wind training camp held from March 27–30, 2025.
The Pakistan Long Range Rifle Team also shined in individual matches, winning a total of 11 medals — 5 gold, 3 silver, and 3 bronze. Lt. Col. Junaid Ali stood out with 3 gold, 2 silver, and 2 bronze medals, showcasing his consistency and skill.
Sepoy Waleed won gold in the Scottish Sword Match, while Ubaid Ibrahim earned silver in the State President First Stage. Lt. Col. Junaid Ali added several more medals in matches like the Free State Bisley, Dalrymple Cup, Colonel Bodley Match, and the overall State President Trophy.
This championship was part of the team’s preparation for the upcoming European F-Class Team Championship in the UK (September 2025) and the World Championship 2026.
The Pakistan Long Range Rifle Team began its international journey in 2023 with a 5th place finish in the F-Class World Championship. That same year, they won the European FTR Team Championship and set two European records. In 2024, they continued their success by winning a bronze in Europe and 14 individual medals, along with two more records.
These achievements reflect the team’s dedication, merit-based selection, discipline, and continuous hard work. With the support and encouragement of the Army Chief, the Pakistan Long Range Rifle Team continues its mission to raise the country’s flag higher on the world stage.
