“Pakistan is a peaceful country and desires peace in the region,” said the DG ISPR.
“But if aggression is imposed on Pakistan, the armed forces are fully prepared to give a befitting response to the enemy,” he added.
In the in-camera session, the Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting also briefed political leaders on the government’s diplomatic efforts and the state’s official stance.
In the current circumstances, this meeting is a prime example of national unity and solidarity.
PTI boycott
Even at such a crucial time, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has boycotted this key meeting.
On this, Defense Minister Khawaja Asif has reminded Imran Khan that at the time of the Pulwama incident, most of the PML-N leadership was imprisoned at the request of Imran Khan but even then, the leadership who was outside participated in the briefing called by Imran Khan, although he refused to sit with them in that briefing. Still, the party did not let national unity be compromised.
“The homeland and its security are far more important than leadership”, he stressed this in a post on X.
