Webdesk: Pakistan and EU have decided to further deepen their cooperation, especially in the areas of peace, security, and migration, during the 10th round of Political Dialogue, which was held in Brussels on Thursday.
During the meeting, Pakistan and European Union (EU) reaffirmed their adherence to the Strategic Engagement Plan (SEP) that was signed in 2019, which seeks to promote collaboration in all the areas outlined in the document.
They also agreed to expand dialogue on matters of regional and global importance, including international law and multilateral collaboration.
While addressing a range of issues, the delegations underlined the need for peaceful solutions to international conflicts through diplomatic means.
They discussed the situations in Ukraine and Jammu and Kashmir, stressing the importance of resolving disputes by upholding the principles laid out in the UN Charter and international law.
The EU and Pakistan both condemned terrorism in all its forms and agreed on the importance of cooperation in tackling security challenges such as counter-terrorism and drug trafficking.
Recognising the value of working together on migration, they looked forward to organising the third round of the Comprehensive Migration and Mobility Dialogue in 2025.
The humanitarian crisis in Gaza was also a burning issue to both sides, and both agreed that the situation required a ceasefire.
They advocated projects that promoted a just and durable peace in Palestine, as part of the two-state solution.
Pakistan and the EU also pledged to uphold access under the GSP+ scheme and explored ways of enhancing bilateral relations.

They shared a common desire to organise the 7th Strategic Dialogue in 2025 as an important step in enhancing interagency cooperation in the future.
It was also agreed that the next round of the Political Dialogue will take place in Islamabad in 2026.
The European Union delegation was led by Olof Skoog, Deputy Secretary General of the European External Action Service, while Pakistan was represented by Foreign Secretary Amna Baloch.
