WEBDESK: Pakistan has extended warm congratulations to Bulgaria as the two countries mark 60 years since the establishment of diplomatic relations.
In a statement issued today, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said the occasion is a moment to reflect on the “enduring friendship and cooperation” that has shaped the relationship between the two nations since diplomatic ties were officially established on 15 June 1965.
Pakistan and Bulgaria have collaborated in several fields over the decades and established understanding and respect towards each other.
The ministry observed that this visit was a testament to its match of commitment in ensuring that there is a stronger bilateral relationship in the years to come.
The relationship between the two countries has been characterised by goodwill and a spirit of co-operation with both countries eager to see the relationship grow into the coming years.
Recently, the Embassy of Bulgaria in Islamabad hosted a colourful reception titled “The Ancient Treasures of Bulgaria” to celebrate the Day of the Bulgarian Alphabet and Culture, as well as the 60th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Bulgaria and Pakistan.
The event united diplomats, government officials, academics and cultural enthusiasts in an evening of cultural exchange and celebration.
The ambassador, Irena Gancheva, greeted the participants and spoke about the close and cordial relations between the two nations, which in the both were seated on the foundation of sixty years of mutual understanding and cooperation.
She highlighted the importance of cultural diplomacy to help in building relationships between individuals and improve bilateral associations.
One of the highlights of the evening was an exhibition titled “The Ancient Treasures of Bulgaria”, which displayed the country’s rich archaeological and cultural legacy.
