WEBDESK: While Prime Minister Narendra Modi spoke for nearly two hours in Parliament, he didn’t say a single word about the 26 victims of the Pahalgam terror attack. This silence has caused deep pain among grieving families and growing anger.
“I am pained and heartbroken that PM Modi gave a two-hour long speech but did not speak about those 26 people who died in the attack even once.” said the wife of Shubham Dwivedi, one of the victoms of Pahalgam.

Across Pahalgam, families are grieving and now, speaking out. They say Modi’s speech was full of noise and nationalism, but empty of compassion.
“Our sons gave their lives. He gave us nothing. Not even one line,” said another local parent.
Yet while the victims’ families demand dignity and recognition, social media in India is divided. Some citizens are echoing their outrage others are defending the Prime Minister and shifting the blame elsewhere.
“Forget parliament speech, even in his national briefing after Operation Sindhoor, that guy neither paid his condolences and tributes to the 26 victims of Pahalgam, nor mentioned Poonch victims and our soldiers who got martyred. We are just not willing to accept that it’s all about him…” a user posted on Twitter (X)

We are just not willing to accept that it's all about him..
But Modi’s supporters are quick to dismiss the criticism. “Congress is already saying there was no Pakistan terrorist and Operation Sindhoor was tamasha. First ask Congress.” — wrote another user, turning the focus towards the opposition.

Others tried to strike a middle ground. “Words matter, but action matters more. True honour to the 26 unfortunate Hindu victims meant justice, support, and prevention — not just mention in a speech. India revenged their supreme sacrifice. That’s the tweet… anything more is petty politics.”

Despite these debates, one fact remains, Modi had the national stage, but chose not to mention the dead.
For the families in Pahalgam, that silence speaks louder than any slogan.
