Islamabad: The Pakistan Air Force (PAF) planes have returned home after participating and winning in the Royal International Air Tattoo RIAT 2025 held in the United Kingdom (UK).

Public and aviation experts from around the globe expressed admiration when PAF’s C-130 caught the attention for its creative and highly realistic painting depicting the aircraft as a hawk.

Pakistan’s C-130H Hercules aircraft was honoured with the “Concours d’Elegance” Trophy, given to the best-prepared and best-presented aircraft on static display. A team of international aviators judged the entries, and PAF’s beautifully designed C-130 stood out among many.

According to the press release issued by PAF, “Adding to the operational significance of this international deployment, Pakistan Air Force’s JF-17 Thunder Block-III fighters executed successful Air-to-Air Refuelling operations en route to United Kingdom.”

The operation showed PAF’s ability to fly long-range missions. It was carried out by the IL-78 aircraft.

This was the first time JF-17 Block-III appeared at RIAT. The aircraft is equipped with AESA radar, beyond visual range missile capability, and modern systems. It is part of Pakistan’s latest defence technology.

RIAT 2025

The RIAT is one of the largest and most respected airshows in the world. Each year, air forces from across the globe take part in the event to showcase their aviation strength and innovation. The competition is tough, but Pakistan’s aircraft were among the top this year.

The PAF’s presence at RIAT was not only about competition; it was a symbol of Pakistan’s growing strength in defence technology and aviation. The JF-17 Thunder, co-developed with China, is a multirole fighter that represents Pakistan’s ability to stand with the world’s leading air powers.
