Pakistan’s oil and gas regulator has slightly lowered the prices of re-gasified liquefied natural gas (RLNG) for June, citing a modest drop in terminal handling charges.
According to a notification issued by the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA), the RLNG price for Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Ltd. (SNGPL) has been set at US$11.0154 per MMBtu for transmission and US$11.7816 per MMBtu for distribution. For Sui Southern Gas Company Ltd. (SSGCL), the corresponding rates are US$9.7284 and US$10.8650 per MMBtu.
The new rates represent a marginal decline from May. SNGPL’s RLNG rates have dropped by about one US cent, US$0.0103 for transmission and US$0.0109 for distribution. Similarly, SSGCL saw a decrease of US$0.0083 and US$0.0092, respectively. These changes translate to a price cut of around 0.08 to 0.09 per cent.
The revision is in line with federal pricing guidelines and reflects a minor easing in costs associated with LNG terminal operations.
