OGRA announces decrease in LPG prices for March

In an interesting development, the Oil & Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) on Friday announced decrease in the Liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) by Rs72.57 per cylinder for the month of March.

According to the notification issued by the OGRA, the LPG price has been reduced by Rs6.15 per kg for March, 2025. While the price of domestic LPG cylinder has reduced by Rs72.57 per cylinder.

The current price of LPG is now standing at Rs247.82 per kg after the slashed prices.

The OGRA’s notification also stated that the domestic LPG cylinder weighing 11.8 kg has a new price of Rs2924.31.

It should be highlighted that the price of domestic LPG cylinder for the month of February was Rs2996.88.

The federal government had increased the LPG prices by Rs43.52 for the month of February.

LPG Prices in Previous Months

Last month, the LPG price per kilogram was increased by Rs3.68 with its exact price reaching Rs253.97 per kilogram.

Likewise, the price of LPG domestic cylinder weighing 11.8kg stood at Rs2996.88. It is important to note that LPG prices witnessed a decrease in January after OGRA issued the notification on December 31,2024.

In January, the LPG rates were reduced by Rs4.02 per kg which made the exact cost at Rs250.28 per kilogram.

As Pakistan faces depletion of natural gas reserves, the domestic and commercial consumers are forced to use the expensive substitute – LPG.
