NUST jumps 17 places in global QS ranking 2025

The National University of Sciences and Technology (NUST) has jumped in the QS Subject Rankings 2025 in Engineering and Technology, securing 127th position worldwide.

As compared to last year, NUST significantly improved its ranking in the global QS ranking by jumping 17 places from previous year. This development emphasised the university’s renowned reputation for its excellent higher education standards and remarkable R&D foundation.

NUST has broken records by ranking among the top 200 universities globally in following subjects: Computer Science, Mathematics, Chemical Engineering, and Electrical Engineering.

NUST also jumped the rankings by 72 places to 322 globally, while in Social Sciences and Management, it has advanced 39 positions to 361.

Furthermore, the university has also improved its ranking in other 11 subjects while maintaining its previous ranking in five others.

It merits a mention that QS World University Rankings is an international portfolio of comparative college and university rankings compiled by a higher education analytics firm, Quacquarelli Symonds (QS).

QS World University Rankings by Subject are usually published by the organisation in March/April of every year.

The rankings provide a detailed evaluation of universities based on their performance in more than 50 specific academic disciplines (Business, Mathematics, Medicine, Law, among others), as well as their performance in five broad faculty areas (Arts & Humanities, Engineering & Technology, Life Sciences, Natural Sciences, and Social Sciences).

Universities around the world are generally reputed by QS rankings among other factors. NUST improving in its QS ranking globally testifies to its high-quality research and modern education facilities.  Therefore, the recent improvement in QS ranking of NUST strengthens its global standing as a quality institution.
