No Spine, No Shame: Modi’S Pet Farooq Abdullah’S Fake Fight For Kashmir

National Conference President Farooq Abdullah continues to paint himself as a so-called freedom fighter for Kashmiris, yet his actions tell a different story.

Once again, he has made noise about going to the Supreme Court if New Delhi delays the restoration of statehood to Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK).

“We are waiting, but if they (Centre) take a long time then we will have no option but to go to the Supreme Court,” Abdullah said—just another empty threat in his long list of political dramas.

Amid the Pahalgam crisis, Farooq Abdullah went so far as to publicly praise Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi—the very man under whose rule Article 370 was revoked, stripping Kashmir of its special status and autonomy.

He has served as the chief minister of IIOJK on several occasions since 1982 till 2002, and as the union minister for New and Renewable Energy between 2009 and 2014. His father Sheikh Abdullah was the first elected chief minister of IIOJK.

His son, Omar Abdullah, Chief Minister of IIOJK, shamelessly shared the stage with Modi, saying, “Jammu and Kashmir will again get the statehood under your watch only.”

This public display reveals the deep political hypocrisy of the Abdullah family, who pretend to stand with Kashmiris while endorsing the same leadership responsible for their oppression.
