WEBDESK: The Modi led Indian government is once again under fire for its failed foreign policy, which critics claim is based on mere slogans and photo opportunities, leaving India increasingly isolated on the global stage.

During the recent Operation Sandhoor, not a single country openly came forward to support India, exposing the hollowness of Prime Minister PM Narendra Modi’s much hyped diplomacy.

In contrast, Pakistan received significant diplomatic support from various countries, enhancing its global standing during the conflict.

Senior Congress leader Pramod Tiwari harshly criticised the Indian government’s handling of the situation, calling out the foreign ministry’s ineffectiveness.

“There wasn’t a single country that openly supported India during Operation Sandhoor,” said Tiwari, pointing out that even major global players like China and Turkey sided firmly with Pakistan.

Tiwari also reminded the public of Modi’s infamous slogan “Ab ki baar, Trump sarkar” (This time, a Trump government), which backfired badly when Donald Trump distanced himself from India during the crisis. The Trump administration instead claimed to mediate between India and Pakistan, recognising Pakistan as an equal party to the conflict a major blow to New Delhi’s diplomatic ambitions.

Tiwari mention that how Modi is focusing more on his foreign trips than securing any meaningful international alliances. “These foreign visits yielded no real diplomatic benefit for India,” he said.

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi went to a 5-nation diplomatic tour from 2nd July to 9th July. Modi’s lavish tour is already facing fierce criticism from opposition parties, civil society groups, and even former diplomats who question its purpose, cost, and timing.

The tour will reportedly include stops in Russia, Austria, Qatar, Brazil, and South Africa. However, many are calling Modi’s lavish tour an unnecessary, image-boosting exercise while India continues to suffer on multiple fronts. Detractors have branded it a “farewell world tour,” accusing the Prime Minister of abandoning urgent domestic matters for personal photo-ops abroad.

The silence of world powers during Operation Sandhoor has been seen as a clear indication of the failure of India’s foreign policy under Modi’s leadership, leaving India isolated and diplomatically weakened.
