Lahore (Azaad English): A newborn baby girl suffered severe burns after an incubator allegedly overheated at Gangaram Hospital in Lahore. The incident has sparked outrage, with the infant’s father, Rafaqat Ali, accusing the hospital staff of negligence and unresponsiveness.
Ali claimed that when he questioned the hospital staff about the incident, they were uncooperative and even forced him out of the nursery. He has appealed to Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz to take action and ensure accountability for those responsible.
This is not the first such incident in Lahore. In 2023, an infant tragically lost their life due to an overheated incubator at Children’s Hospital. Following that case, an inquiry committee was formed to investigate the causes of the malfunction.
Authorities have yet to comment on the latest incident, but calls for a thorough investigation and stricter hospital safety measures are growing.
