In an exciting development, New Zealand on Monday successfully restricted its rival Bangladesh to 236/9 in the Champions Trophy 2025 Bangladesh vs New Zealand match being held in Rawalpindi.

The blackcaps won the toss and opted to bowl which proved to be beneficial as an all-round bowling by New Zealand restricted Bangladesh below 250 in the highly anticipated Bangladesh vs New Zealand match.

Michael Bracewell took out four wickets which helped the Kiwis curtail Bangladesh in the Champions Trophy 2025.

Bangladesh, however, started decently in the beginning of the innings as their openers Najmul Hossain Shanto and Tanzid Hasan’s partnership won the Bangladesh team 45 run. However, Hussain fell victim in the ninth over of New Zealand vs Bangladesh match.

After that, the Bangladesh cricket team were out of luck as their wickets kept falling with their score at 118/5 in 26.1 overs. It should be highlighted that opener Najmul Hossain Shanto was still hanging on at this point.

Shanto then made another good partnership with middle-order batter Jaker Ali as they made 45 runs but Shanto’s luck ran out when Will O’Rourke’s ball made him its victim.

Jaker managed to score 45 off 55 balls with three fours and a six  while he also made a 33 run partnership with Rishad Hossain.

New Zealand’s batting:

On New Zealand’s side, Bracewell was responsible for taking four wickets, followed by O’Rourke who took two wickets and Matt Henry and Kyle Jamieson took one wickets each.

Meanwhile, New Zealand began its batting with an unfortunate start as opener Will Young fell victim to Taskin Ahmed in the first over. The early hiccups did not stop for the Kiwis as Nahid Rana took out Kane Williamson in the third over on Monday.

It should be noted that Rawalpindi is set to host two consecutive Champions Trophy 2025 matches on Monday and Tuesday.
