Kohli also took to his Instagram page to post a clarification, writing, “I’d like to clarify that while clearing my feed, it appears the algorithm may have mistakenly registered an interaction. There was absolutely no intent behind it. I request that no unnecessary assumptions be made. Thank you for your understanding.”
However, the clarification had little effect on netizens who have started making memes on social media platform about Virat Kohli

Some users pointed out that the entire scene is being blown out of proportion, calling it unfair treatment to the cricket icon.
