President of the United States, Donald Trump, while addressing the NATO Summit in the Netherlands on Wednesday praised the US military for conducting a successful operation against Iranian nuclear facilities.
“No other military in the world could have done that,” claimed Trump as multiple international news organisations reported that the US strikes in the Fordow nuclear facility in Iran inflicted minimal damage.
Trump has lashed out at CNN and mainstream media for “dishonoring the US armed forces” which is “known as the best military in the world.”
Speaking about the recent Israel-Iran conflict, he stated, “It should be known as the 12 day war. We think its over, they are not going to go back at each other. I don’t think so. We secured a historic ceasefire.”
“And, we call it the 12-day war. I spoke to a few people. I guess that just sounded like the right name. It was a 12-day war,” he adds.
Trump also suggested that the peace was only achieved between Israel and Iran because the United States stepped in militarily, targeting Iran’s nuclear facilities.
President Donald Trump has repeatedly stated that Iran will never be allowed to enrich uranium or attain nuclear weapons.
He says the US has also “reasserted the credibility of American deterrence”, which is “like no other“.
Donald Trump praises Field Marshal Asim Munir
During his address, President Donald Trump also praised Field Marshal Asim Munir, saying, “Field Marshal Asim Munir is very capable man.”
Trump credited himself for stopping multiple conflicts, while highlighting “the most important of all” wars referring to last month’s India-Pakistan war.
“These were not the countries whether or not they might some day have nukes like the situation in the middle east. Like we are talking about Israel and Iran.”
“They already have nuclear weapons, I ended that [war] with a series of phone calls on trade and said look if you are gonna go fighting each other… it was getting very bad. You know how bad that last attack was,” Trump stated.
Last week, President Trump hosted Field Marshal Asim Munir for lunch at the White House. Speaking ahead of a luncheon he hosted for the army chief at the White House, Trump said Munir was “extremely influential” in helping de-escalate the situation from Pakistan’s side.
“This man [Asim Munir] was extremely influential in stopping it from the Pakistani side,” Trump told reporters. “They were going at it — and both are nuclear countries.”
“I stopped a war between two major nations,” he added.
