WEBDESK: The National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) has announced a new policy for overseas Pakistanis who want to change their date of birth on their National Identity Card for Overseas Pakistanis (NICOP). The new rules, introduced in 2025, simplify the process and include an updated NADRA NICOP age modification fee structure.
Overseas Pakistanis can now apply for age changes through three main channels: the Pak ID mobile app, their nearest NADRA center in Pakistan, or the Pakistani embassy in their country of residence.
Eligibility and Required Documents
NADRA has outlined different rules depending on how much an applicant wants to change their age:
- Age change up to 5 years (first time only): Applicants must provide a Pakistani passport, Matric Certificate, a mark sheet issued within the last 3 years, or a Service Book.
- Second age change (up to 366 days): Allowed only once. Requires a Pakistani or foreign passport, resident permit, or Matric Certificate.
- One-year change (up to 366 days): Accepted with an inland or foreign birth certificate.
- Unnatural age difference with a sibling (less than 7 months): A change of up to 366 days is allowed without any documents.
NADRA NICOP Age Modification Fee Structure:
The NADRA NICOP age modification fee structure has been revised for 2025. The fee varies based on the number of years changed:
Age Difference | Fee (USD) |
---|---|
Up to 1 year | $5 |
1–2 years | $25 |
2–3 years | $40 |
Over 3 years | $65 |
Second-time modification | $125 |
All fees will be charged in Pakistani Rupees based on the current exchange rate.
How to Apply
The process is designed to be simple and accessible. Applicants can submit their request using the Pak ID app, visit any NADRA registration center, or contact their nearest Pakistani embassy.
The revised NICOP age modification fee structure and new application channels aim to reduce delays and make the system more user-friendly.
