WEBDESK: Indian Congress leader Rahul Gandhi has once again launched a scathing attack on Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, exposing him of destroying the future of India’s youth through the controversial Agniveer scheme.
India’s Army turned into business model for billionaires, says Rahul Gandhi on Modi’s Agniveer Scheme
According to Gandhi, the real aim of the Agniveer scheme is not national defence, but corporate profit. “This is not a military recruitment plan – it’s a business model designed to benefit Adani,” he said. “Modi has turned the Indian Army into a tool for his billionaire friends.”
The Agniveer scheme, introduced by the BJP led government, replaces long-term military jobs with a short 4-year contract. Recruits under this scheme are denied pensions, permanent positions, and long-term welfare. Gandhi claims this move has robbed millions of young Indians of stable employment and job security, pushing them into “temporary military slavery.”
He further alleged that funds meant for soldiers’ pensions, salaries, and family welfare have been redirected towards defence contracts awarded to Adani Defence a firm that, according to Gandhi, neither manufactures weapons nor drones. “Adani Defence simply imports arms and slaps on its own label to sell them as ‘Made in India’. This is fraud, not patriotism.”
Gandhi accused the Modi government of using patriotism to manipulate the poor. “In the name of national pride, the poor are being sacrificed, while Adani reaps the profits,” he said. “The Agniveer scheme is not about defending the country it’s about defending corporate interests.”
He also warned that BJP’s war-mongering politics serve only one purpose – filling the coffers of close allies like Adani. “The war narrative is just a cover. While the youth are sold dreams of wearing the uniform, Adani walks away with billion-dollar contracts,” he said.
Rahul Gandhi called the Agniveer scheme a “silent weapon of corporate profit,” accusing the Modi regime of turning national defence into a money-making venture.
