Indian Prime Minister (PM) Narendra Modi has revealed that he spoke with Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian and expressed deep concern over the recent escalations.
However, in his post on X, Modi avoided mentioning the United States and Israel by name.
He said he urged Iran to de-escalate immediately and emphasised “dialogue and diplomacy as the way forward” for the early restoration of regional peace, security, and stability.
It is pertinent to mention that US B-2 bombers are reported to have used Indian airspace to carry out strikes on Iran’s nuclear facilities.
Prior to this fake claims regarding Pakistan allowing US to use its airspace were circulating.
The claim circulating on social media that Pakistan allowed its airspace for US B2 bombers, warships, and submarines to strike Iranian sites is completely false and baseless.
This is fake news. Pakistan has not granted any such permission, and no official source has confirmed this allegation.
Pakistan officially condemned the US strikes on Iranian nuclear facilities carried out on the night of June 21–22, as stated by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Furthermore, Pakistan has consistently and unequivocally condemned Israeli aggression against Iran at various international forums, extending full political, moral, and diplomatic support to Iran. Pakistan remains firmly committed to not becoming part of any foreign conflict, military alliance, or bloc politics.
Iran reacts to US strikes
According to Al Jazeera, Pezeshkian accused the US of being the “main cause” of Israel’s hostile actions against Iran.
“Although they initially tried to conceal their role, after the decisive and deterrent response of our country’s armed forces and the observation of the Zionist regime’s [Israel’s] obvious inability, they inevitably came to the fore,” he said, referring to the US.
According to IRNA, Pezeshkian said despite the losses suffered by the country, it was now time to set aside differences and “activate the great capacities of the people”.
