India claims friendship with Iran, but its top business empire — the Adani Group — is arming Israel, whose weapons have killed people in Iran and Gaza, including women and children. Gautam Adani, a key financier of Narendra Modi, has built a deadly weapons pipeline with Israel that includes drone-missile systems and assault rifles used by the Israeli military.

In a joint venture with Israel’s largest arms company Elbit Systems, Adani manufactures Hermes 900 drones in Hyderabad — the same drones Israel has used for years in its wars on Gaza. These drones have played a central role in Israel’s 2024 assault on Gaza, which has killed over 35,000 Palestinians, many of them civilians. Adani continues to supply these weapons, despite global condemnation and calls for an arms embargo.

Even after the International Court of Justice warned Israel to prevent genocide, Adani deepened its weapons trade. On February 2nd, 2024, Shephard Media confirmed Israel had taken delivery of 20 Hermes 900 drones made in India. A defence analyst told The Wire that it’s “highly likely” these Indian drones are being used in Gaza.

Meanwhile, Adani also partners with Israel Weapon Industries to produce deadly rifles like the TAVOR, GALIL sniper rifles, and UZI submachine guns — all made in Madhya Pradesh. These weapons are manufactured under a company Adani proudly named “PLR” — Precise, Lethal, Reliable.

Adani’s deepening ties with Israel come as major global firms like Japan’s Itochu and Switzerland’s Kuehne+Nagel have cut ties with Elbit over the genocide. India, instead, refuses to back a UN arms embargo against Israel — a move that would hurt Adani’s war business.

Modi’s government is shielding Adani’s profits, even if it means protecting the weapons killing Palestinians — and possibly IRGC allies. That’s not friendship with Iran. That’s complicity.

Gautam Adani is the second-richest man in India with a net worth of 63.4 billion USD.
