The Dubai-based Afghan businessman said that the donation would help build an advanced charity cancer hospital and research centre that will offer free treatments to cancer patients in memory of his daughter, Farishta Azizi, who he lost to cancer last year.

The $816 million (AED3 billion) will be allocated to establishing a dedicated health district in Dubai, which includes a hospital, an advanced medical research center, a physician training facility, and additional buildings. These facilities are designed for long-term use, providing essential healthcare and professional development resources to underprivileged communities.

Mirwais Azizi has said that he had donated millions of dirhams to various charity initiatives, but this is his biggest donation. He added that construction would begin later this year, with the location and further updates to be announced through Sheikh Muhammad’s offices.

Mirwais Azizi’s, Azizi Developments’ corporate social responsibility (CSR) efforts expand across the UAE and globally, focusing on sustainability, equality, health, and support for major sporting events.
