In a groundbreaking development, the editor of Fact Focus, Usman Manzoor, has denounced the recent article by Ahmad Noorani alleging that Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Syed Asim Munir has taken control of civilian institutions to “unprecedented levels”.

Manzoor took to X (formerly Twitter) on Wednesday to state: “I Usman Manzoor was editor Fact Focus when story was published, hereby states that story published on Fact Focus with subject of Army Chief Or A King: GHQ Tightens Grip On Civilian Institutions Under General Asim Munir is based on false accusation.”

He further clarified: “Story is a misrepresentation of facts and is deliberate plot to peddle a narrative for malicious campaign and objectives. I denounce recent vilification campaign against Army Chief and family by fact focus.”

Ahmad Noorani had earlier published an article, “Army Chief Or A King: GHQ Tightens Grip On Civilian Institutions Under General Asim Munir” which alleged that the state institutions had been interfered regularly by the Army Chief’s family members.

In violation laws, Noorani also posted pictures of personal details of Gen Asim Munir’s family members, including her two daughters. Ahmad Noorani had claimed that both his daughters had been provided diplomatic passports.

However, this claim was later debunked by social media users as diplomatic passports had clear identification of “PD” in the passport type. While the Chief’s daughters’ passports did not have that identification, meaning they had normal passports.
