WEBDESK: Retired Major Meesam Raza has strongly criticized journalist Ahmed Noorani over his claims regarding the issuance of a blue passport to Major Uzair, the son-in-law of Pakistan’s Army Chief, General Syed Asim Munir. In a video statement, Meesam Raza refuted Noorani’s claims, stating that Major Uzair, a serving officer in the Pakistan Army, was issued a blue passport in 2018 – four years before General Asim Munir became the Army Chief in 2022.

Meesam Raza explained that whenever a government official or army officer travels abroad on an official mission or training course, the Government of Pakistan issues them a blue passport. He mocked Noorani, questioning his journalistic integrity and accusing him of being biased.

The retired officer further criticized Noorani, stating that he has been influenced by financial incentives to the extent that he should change his name. “He no longer possesses the qualities of ‘Ahmed’ or ‘Noorani,'” Raza remarked.

Using a metaphor, he compared Noorani’s actions to an overfed rooster that can no longer crow properly. “This is what has happened to Ahmed Noorani – he is ‘overfed’ with false narratives,” he added.

Raza dismissed Noorani’s claims as baseless, emphasizing that Major Uzair was legally issued the blue passport long before General Asim Munir’s appointment as Army Chief. He sarcastically asked Noorani whether General Asim Munir had predicted his future role as Army Chief back in 2018 and arranged a blue passport for his son-in-law accordingly.

He further condemned Noorani’s journalistic approach, saying, “Has your journalism stooped so low that you’re now investigating the diapers of army officers’ children?”

Meesam Raza concluded by stating that if Noorani’s journalistic focus has narrowed down to Major Uzair’s blue passport, it signifies that he has already lost the media battle and should surrender.
