Punjab Chief Minister has approved the first-ever bullet train Pakistan service, connecting Lahore, Rawalpindi, and Islamabad through a high-speed rail network. Since the project’s approval, citizens are wondering about the ticket prices, route details, and expected launch date.

Lahore Rawalpindi Bullet Treain route:

The bullet train from Lahore to Rawalpindi will depart from Lahore Junction railway station and will stop at Lalamusa, Dina, and Gujar Khan before reaching Rawalpindi. The bullet train will reduce the travelling time between Lahore and Rawalpindi/Islamabad to two and a half hours, compared to four hours if you take a traditional train.

If you travel by private buses, the journey usually extends to five hours. If you drive your own car or use the carpooling services of private companies, the travelling time is typically around four and a half hours via the motorway.

The bullet train will travel at the speed of 120 km/h.

When is Bullet Rawalpindi-Lahore bullet train launching?

The exact launch date of the bullet train is not known yet.
The ticket price for the bullet train connecting the two major cities is also yet to be announced. It will be revealed once the project is completed.

Bullet Train Best Gift for the public

Senior Punjab Minister Marriyum Aurangzeb, while chairing a meeting attended by Federal Minister for Railways Hanif Abbasi, termed the bullet train project as the “best gift for the public”.

The Punjab government is considering a joint public–private delivery model for the bullet train, and Marriyum Aurangzeb has been appointed to liaise with Pakistan Railways to get the project moving.

Maryam Aurangzeb, has established working committee to complete the bullet train project, which consists of Railway Chairman, the Railway CEO, Punjab Chief Minister’s Advisor Shahid Tarar, and Provincial Minister for Transport Bilal Akbar Khan.

The feasibility and timeframe of the project will be prepared by the working group. Next Monday, Maryam Aurangzeb will give the Chief Minister the group’s recommendations.
