WEBDESK: In a major boost for Lahore Qalandars, Kusal Perera has officially joined the team for the remainder of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2025 season. The experienced Sri Lankan cricketer steps in to strengthen the squad following injuries to several key players.
Kusal Perera, known for his aggressive batting and versatile skills, has a strong track record in T20 cricket. His arrival comes at a crucial time for the Qalandars, who are currently struggling in the points table and looking to bounce back in the remaining matches of the tournament.
The Qalandars have been hit hard by injuries, with star players like Tom Curran and Daryll Mitchell sidelined. Perera’s addition is seen as an important move to fill the gap and bring more firepower to the team’s batting lineup. Joining Perera in Lahore were two other overseas players – Shakib Al Hasan and Bhanuka Rajapaksa who have been brought in as cover for the injured players.
Perera, 34, is renowned for his explosive batting and vast T20 experience. He has amassed over 4,500 runs in T20 cricket.
Upon his arrival, Kusal Perera expressed his excitement, saying: “It feels great to be back with Lahore Qalandars.
