Imran Khan’s sisters, and other senior Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leaders have been released after a brief detention by Rawalpindi police near Adiala Jail on Thursday.
The detained leaders included National Assembly Opposition Leader Omar Ayub, Sunni-Ittehad Council Chairman Sahibzada Hamid Raza, Punjab Assembly Opposition Leader Ahmed Khan Bhachar.
Khan’s sisters Aleema, Uzma and Noreen were also present outside Adiala Jail in Rawalpindi to meet with founder PTI Imran Khan.
The incident took place at the Gorakhpur checkpoint, where PTI supporters had gathered, chanting slogans in protest.
PTI leaders have claimed that Imran Khan is not being allowed to meet his fellow party leaders. They also alleged that Khan is being denied many amenities in Adiala Jail, including court-mandated phone calls with his sons abroad.
Previously, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leaders were arrested by authorities outside Adiala Jail in Rawalpindi on Thursday evening.
According to details, the arrested individuals include Aleema Khan, Uzma Khan, Omar Ayub, Malik Ahmad Khan and Sahibzada Hamid Raza.
The PTI leaders were present outside Adiala Jail to meet with founder PTI Imran Khan. The police stopped the PTI leaders at a police checkpoint near Adiala Jail. The police took the three sisters of the founder of PTI, Aleema Khan, Noreen Khanum and Uzma Khanum into custody.
